THE WORLD’S PREMIER DRIVING SYSTEM

Let's keep them safe on their way to school.

Our cost-effective solution for all automotive vehicles is a proven, patented technology that increases the safety and savings for student transportation.

STOP THE STATISTICS

According to NHTSA, 134 people die in school bus-related accidents each year.

Although school bus transportation is the safest ground transportation system in the U.S., more than ten thousand children are injured each year. According to the National Safety Council, the average cost of an automotive accident involving an injury is $61,600 while an automotive related fatality is over $1 million. We’re working to end these statistics.

"Soteria saves lives."

“Soteria saves lives.  It is that simple. Every school should use this technology, especially at a time when drivers are more distracted than ever before!”

– Joan Wade
AESA Executive Director

Soteria improves driver and student safety.

Soteria is patented-technology compatible with every vehicle manufactured after 1996 to either prevent or notify when a driver is speeding, driving recklessly, or using apps on their phone while driving.

SAFETY

The U.S. Department of Transportation reports that 86% of automotive accidents occur from speeding, reckless driving, and cellular distractions. In real time, Soteria elevates transportation safety to a premier level by mitigating these causes of accidents.

SAVINGS

Soteria can lead to significant savings in operational costs. Research produced by the U.S. Department of Energy shows that driving the speed limit, every vehicle powered by gas or diesel saves between 20-60% on fuel costs each year. Preventive maintenance notifications from Soteria helps control the costs associated with service and repair charges. Soteria also reduces accident liability which lowers insurance premiums for schools using our technology.  The bottom line, with the fuel and insurance savings, Soteria allows schools to pay for the technology as well as use the money saved towards high priority educational services.

SIMPLICITY

The implementation process for Soteria is seamless and completed within seconds.  Regardless of the size and types of vehicles within a student transportation fleet, Soteria will improve the operational safety and savings from the moment of installation.

BE IN THE KNOW

How Soteria works

Fleet administrators will receive alerts the moment anything happens, from speeding to rapid acceleration to an accident. Notifications are sent at the precise moment the reckless driving behavior occurs and will contain the time and GPS location for review.

WATCH YOUR DASHBOARD

Know exactly what happens, when it happens, and take action to improve safety.

In the event a driver is driving recklessly by rapid acceleration, hard braking, or excessive swerving, a notification will be sent to the fleet administrator.  This notification is sent at the precise moment the reckless driving behavior occurs and will contain the time and GPS location for review.

PROTECT YOUR SCHOOL

Reduce the risk for potential lawsuits and legal claims

Protect your organization from legal claims and lawsuits by taking the best safety precautions.  Soteria keeps full analytics on your fleet’s locations, driving habits, and accident reports. This gives you the ability to create full reports as needed.

The features:

Below are all the features Soteria offers in real-time simply by plugging in the devices and logging into your Soteria portal site. The * symbol represents features coming soon.

GPS ROUTING

Locate student transportation vehicles in real time and determine their optimal travel routes.

ADAPTIVE SPEEDING ALERTS

Adaptive speeding alerts are sent in real time to notifying fleet administrators when a vehicle exceeds the speed limit or the designated threshold they have set above the posted speed limit to receive notifications. For example, if 5 MPH over the posted speed limit was the selected parameter, they receive immediate notifications including the bus number, posted speed limit, speed of the bus, location, distance traveled, and time of the speeding event.

HARD BRAKING ALERTS

Hard braking can injure children and create safety and repair issues for the vehicle. Get alerts any time this occurs.

EXCESSIVE SWERVING ALERTS

The fleet administrator is immediately notified when a driver makes any dangerous movement, therefore, significantly reducing the risk of injuries caused by reckless driving.

ACCIDENT ALERTS

In the event of an accident, the vehicle’s GPS location will be sent to all emergency contacts.

SPEED PREVENTION*

Adaptive to each road, to prevent all of the administrator's buses and vehicles from exceeding the designated speed threshold chosen. This feature only allows all of the buses and vehicles in their fleet to drive any speed relative to the posted speed limit. Instead of receiving a notification about when a vehicle exceeds the speed limit by 5 MPH or more, an administrator can select that the maximum speed their vehicles can travel is 5 MPH over the speed limit on any road.

RAPID ACCELERATION ALERTS

Rapid accelerations can injure children and consumes fuel at a significant rate. Get alerts any time this occurs.

CELLULAR APP LOCKING*

Allows school bus fleet administrators to choose any apps and features their drivers can access on their personal phones while operating a school bus or student transportation vehicle.

MAINTENANCE DATA

Receive diagnostic notifications to maintain the service needs of your buses and vehicles before breakdowns and costly repairs occur.

Let's Compare

Better than Apple.

Apple introduced a new feature on the iOS platforms for iPhones and iPads to disable texting and emailing while on the road. While some may view this as a threat to the cellular prevention solution Soteria provides, others may propose it increases the value of Soteria. The new software update for Apple devices is problematic for two reasons: its inability to determine who is the driver or passengers in a vehicle.  Fleet administrators can now rest assured that all of their drivers will follow the strict laws and regulations of not using their cell phones while driving a school bus.

Real speeding data.

Soteria is the only product on the market that detects every posted speed limit and reports speeding instantly.  While other products and services only report the average or maximum speed of a vehicle, Soteria is the only product on the market patented to PREVENT speeding if fleet administrators activate this feature for all of their vehicles.  Activation of this feature by administrators allows their drivers to only drive the posted speed limit if they desire, or allows selection of any MPH they will permit their drivers to exceed any posted speed limit.  For example, an administrator may elect to allow their vehicles to exceed any speed limit by 5 MPH.

How it works.

To use Soteria, a school fleet administrator or transportation employee plugs the Soteria device into the OBDII or J1939 port of their vehicles.  After installing the Soteria device into their vehicles, they will create a Soteria portal online to select the features and preferences they would like to activate.  The installation of Soteria is completed that simply.

How it works.

To use Soteria, a person inserts the Soteria device into the OBDII port located underneath the steering wheel of a vehicle. Next, download the Soteria mobile app on to their phone, tablet, or laptop. It’s that simple.
